Iiwari Tracking Solutions indoor positioning system is exploiting the great radio features of the ultra-wide band (UWB) standard radio technology. The system can be deployed in almost any indoor environment to provide real-time positioning features. The benefits of the Iiwari system compared to the competing ones is the quicker and easier installation that can also be done by 3rd parties. Faster and easier installation is made by a significantly less amount of cabling compared to competing systems. The system is also more affordable and the UWB itself provides the competitive edge over other technologies in accuracy.

It was a pleasure to experience how fast the Iiwari-solution was installed at the Smartcarelab in Stavanger. The system has huge potential in utilizing RTLS in both new and old buildings as the infrastructural part is really fast and easy. We look forward to experience the system over time, and see that the technology and accuracy is incredible.
The first major component of the system is a positioning network consisting of master base stations and base stations that receive or transmit positioning signals to / from the tag, depending on the positioning mode.
The tag or mobile phone is attached to the tracked object and is sending or receiving positioning signals from / to the positioning network.
The data management layer takes care of the actual positioning calculations in the site gateway unit and also the data processing typically in the cloud.
IIWARI POSITIONING SYSTEM
The positioning system is built by implementing so called positioning cells to the site. The master base stations and base stations are been attached to the ceiling or the walls to form a positioning network.
