Greetings from the Agritech Supplier Summit.
Iiwari was a production solution partner at AGRITECH Supplier Summit 2023 in Augsburg, Germany on 13-14 September 2023.
AGRITECH’23 focused on the most important trends in the agricultural industry and the technologies that drive them. The event was attended by 310 top agricultural technology professionals from industry-leading companies such as ACGO. The theme of the event was sustainable development, factory of the future, supply chain and the process of continuous improvement (Operational Excellence).
Iiwari was the event’s Production Solution Partner and presented in practice how high-precision positioning can be used to measure efficiency and find ways to develop operations in industry in the factories of the future.
Fair visitors could try indoor positioning themselves
Iiwari presented the possibilities of indoor positioning technology at the event in a new and interesting way by enhancing the interaction and cooperation of the event’s participants. Iiwari’s positioning system was installed at the fairgrounds and participants were offered tracking tags for testing. Using the QR code, the participants could easily download Iiwari’s application to their mobile phones. Fair visitors were able to participate in a fun game experiment offered by Iiwari as part of the event experience.
It was possible with Iiwari’s application
- Search for the location of guests’ and companies’ exhibition stands
- Search for ACGO’s toy tractor (playful competition)
- View production analyses
- View area and visitor analytics
- Demonstrate security and zone alarms
Indoor positioning testing was a success
A gratifying number of fair visitors used Iiwari’s application and tag, and we received continuous live information about which stands were the most popular, how long they were there, and what routes people took in the fair area. A heatmap of the routes in the area visually told which parts of the exhibition area were the most visited.
We were particularly pleased with how Josip T. Tomasevic (Senior Director, Global Procurement, Member of the Extended Management Team; AGCO) and Dr. Hajo Drees, MBA (CEO Berlin Institute Supply Chain management) presented on the main stage of the event Iiwari’s zone statistics, i.e. visits to virtual areas (in this case at the company’s presentation points) and average stays in the areas as well as the application of the data in factory environments.
Which topic in indoor positioning interested the industry the most?
In many interesting conversations with the participants of the event, safety walks in factories came up. With the help of indoor positioning, it is possible to make safety walks considerably more efficient. During the safety walk, the location information of the safety problem or e.g. the device being serviced and detailed information about what the safety attention is are marked directly on the map of the application. In addition, you can mark who the task is assigned to and what the schedule for completing the task is, and the task to be performed will be automatically notified to the right person.
Thank you Dr. Hajo Drees and others for organizing a great event. Such focused and compact-sized events serve their purpose well and are very useful for a special expertise company like Iiwari.
