The Tags are the basic component of the indoor positioning system. They can be fitted with use case specific components and additional features
Base Stations function as so called anchors (or beacons) for the tags to calculate their location and relay the information forward
All location data is collected into a cloud platform, from which it can be utilized by different services
The IIWARI TAG
Tags are the heart of the Iiwari indoor positioning system. The design of the tags is kept open, so that they can be crafted to suit your specific needs.
The basic functionalities of a tag include 3-dimensional positioning to the accuracy of 10 centimetres, and a power source. Additional features and sensors can be added based on your needs.
Tags calculate their location based on the multiple Base Stations. This makes the whole system resilient to blind spots and obstacles. Compared to other technologies, such as BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy), they offer unparallel accuracy and fault tolerance, while still maintaining a competitive price point.
The tags will be equipped with a power source based on case specific needs. Diverse charging options, including wireless charging, are available.
The tags communicate their location to the Base Stations at sufficient intervals to fit case specific needs. This link can also be used to transmit other sensory data. Due to the UWB signals exclusive use for location related services, the technology does not create an additional vector for cyber-attacks, making it a highly secure solution.
The tags can be complimented with other environmental sensors, such as accelerometers, temperature and humidity sensors.
The technology we use in positioning enables a practically infinite amount of tags to be tracked within the monitored area, without any loss in location data accuracy.
This makes the Iiwari solution ideal to environments where 3-dimensional location data is required from multiple objects placed close together. For example: IoT solution environments, electronic retail shelf labels and warehouse management solutions.
The most fundamental piece of our indoor positioning network is a cell consisting of up to 8 interconnected Base Stations.
An individual Cell covers an area up to 800 square meters and can handle any number of individual tags. Cells can be seamlessly linked together to create a larger mesh network. Individual tags can be tracked from one cell to the next without interruptions.
Base Stations function as anchors for the tags to calculate their location. They collect the tags location data and send it to be further processed and utilized.
An individual Base Station requires only a power connection. Additionally, within a cell one Base Station also requires a wired ethernet connection to ensure smooth data transfer.
Small and unobtrusive, the Base Stations are easy to install in relevant locations in a multitude of different kinds of environments.
Individual tags location data from within a cell is sent to a Cloud Gateway, which collects and relays the data of the whole mesh network to our cloud infrastructure. From there, the data is readily available to be utilized by your location based service.
All Iiwari devices are connected to a cloud based server infrastructure, which collects and consolidates the location data. Our backend infrastructure is designed to provide you with everything you need to put that data into use in your location based service.
With ready made connectors and clearly documented API’s, it is possible to connect the data to already existing or newly developed solutions. We also have analytics solutions for analysing historical location data. This enables you to increase efficiency through optimization, or to enhance customer satisfaction within your premises.
Security aspects are constantly considered in our development, so that you can be assured that your location data stays in your control.
